Uganda Chimpanzee Tracking Safari - 3 Days

Early morning pick up from Entebbe (pick up from Kampala also available at an extra fee). You will set off from Kampala to Kibale forest NP a home to the Chimpanzees and the only place in Uganda where you have 98% guarantee of viewing the chimpanzees in the wild, this park also boasts the highest concentration of primates than any other park in the world. You will have a stopover at Fort portal for lunch, thereafter proceed to the park for dinner and overnight stay at Kibale forest Camp (Full board basis). Driving Distance: 370kms, Approx transit time: 6½ hrs.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kanyanchu tourist center for briefing before proceeding for chimpanzee tracking. There is a 98% chance of coming across these habituated chimpanzees. Aside from the Chimpanzees, the incredibly diverse forest is home to over 13 species of primates including the rare L’Hoest, red Colobus monkey, blue monkey, black faced vervet monkeys, grey mangabey, pottos, baboons and also bush babies. Kibale forest has a network of shady flora trails that provide much to delight botanists and butterfly lovers, while birders are in for a treat with about 335 species recorded including the endemic Prirogrine’s ground thrush. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Bigodi wetlands for the swamp walk and birding experience. You may encounter different bird species including the rare papyrus Gonolek that may be spotted. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Kibale Forest Camp (FB).

After breakfast you will go for the guided nature walks around the crater lakes. Your walking safari guide will lead you through the local communities, tea, maize and cassava plantations. You will hike up to the point commonly referred to as the top of the world with a clear view of the Rwenzori mountain ranges and the three crater lakes. You will thereafter return to the lodge for preparations before being transferred back to Kampala/ Entebbe international airport. (Drop off in Kampala at an extra small fee). End of safari.
