Uganda Gorilla Express Safari (3 Days) |
 |
Bwindi Impenetrable
Forest is located in southwestern Uganda on the edge of
the western rift valley covering 331 sq. kms. It is one
of the largest natural forests in East Africa, supporting
a large number of plants and animals not found elsewhere.
This forest is a sanctuary for almost half the world's population
of mountain gorillas (about 330 of 600), which is the rarest
race of gorilla. Bwindi is one of the richest ecosystems
in Africa that includes mountain gorilla, chimpanzee and
8 other species of primate.
The main activity in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is "gorilla
tracking" to the habituated four families of mountain
gorillas. Other wildlife includes but not limited to Elephant,
bush pig, giant forest hog, many species of bats and rodents,
at least 346 species of birds including rare forest birds,
at least 14 species of snakes, 27 species of frogs and toads,
6 chameleons, 14 lizards, skinks and geckos, at least 202
species of butterfly. There are also several endangered
species of birds with limited ranges. Learn

proceed to Kisoro then cross to Rwanda and head for Kiinigi

Day 2: Bwindi - Full Day Gorilla
Trekking
After breakfast with packed lunch, Hikers will love the
adventure of tracking the gorillas in the beautiful ecosystem
of the park. As gorilla tracking is unpredictable, it is
difficult to foresee how many hours you will actually hike.
It may take up to 8 hours, and you should be prepared to
a walk long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes
with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. Anyone
who has made the trek will be quick to say that in any circumstances
the thrill of seeing the gorillas makes it all worthwhile.
For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas
is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you
on how to behave with these gentle giants. Dinner and overnight
at, Bwindi Gorilla Resort, A Luxury Upper class Hotel
with Air Conditioned rooms F/B
Day 3: Bwindi - Back To Kampala
+ Depart
Have your early breakfast before embarking on our return
to Kampala, drive down through the grassed and terraced
escarpments of southwestern Uganda while taking in the breathtaking
sights of the hills of the region known as the little
Switzerland of Africa. This area is a highly fertile,
mountainous region with steep sided hills covered from top
to bottom in neatly terraced cultivated rows. Continue through
Mbarara, the land of the long horned Ankole cattle. A remarkable
highlight of this journey is the Equator line and surely
you will cross it as we have a brief stop here. Arrive Kampala
in the evening to be dropped at your accommodation or at
Entebbe Airport for your onward travel arrangements. |
