small lodge is located on an historic 40-acre coffee farm

the beautiful gardens. Each cottage is individually placed
around the coffee plantation which ensures they are private
and very cozy. The interiors are fairly basic but very
neat and very comfortable. Each of the 40 picturesque

Day
02: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast we will meet for our safari guide for
a quick briefing before heading out on the road to Tarangire
National Park. Tarangire is the third largest national
park in Tanzania. An unusually large population of elephants
inhabits this sanctuary. Majestic baobab trees create
fantastic landscape photos as they dwarf the animals that
feed beneath them. During the dry season animals concentrate
along Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent
water supply in the area. A great diversity of wildlife
flourishes here, including the giraffe, buffalo, lesser
kudu, eland, and zebra. Lions, leopards, and cheetah are
also present. Up to 6,000 elephants inhabit Tarangire
in the dry season. Enjoy panoramic views of animals drinking
at the Tarangire River from atop a high bluff in the lounge
and dining room of the Tarangire Safari Lodge. The open-sided
design allows an uninterrupted view of the landscape and
wildlife below, and captures the cooling breeze while
you dine on the delicious home-cooked safari cuisine.
The cozy tents have ensuite bathrooms and a view overlooking
the Tarangire River [BLD]
Day 03: Ngorongoro Highlands
Today we pass through the Great Rift Valley on the way
to Lake Manyara National Park. The lake, situated along
the impressive escarpment of the Rift Valley, takes its
name from the Maasai word for Euphorbia tirucalli, a bush
which is used to make a thorny hedge to protect their
cattle. With luck we may see the Manyara lions, well known
for their tree climbing habits, lazily resting on the
branches of an Acacia tortilis tree. Elephant, hippo,
giraffe, buffalo and other animals are found here as well
as nimble blue monkeys and large family groups of baboons.
The bird life is prolific with flamingoes, pelicans, hornbills
and plenty of vibrant forest species present. Finally,
we will climb up the wall of the rift valley to the rim
of the Ngorongoro Crater. Overnight tonight on the rim
of Ngorongoro Crater at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. Strung
along the eastern rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, rooms
at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge have views out to the crater
floor below. Floor to ceiling windows are set next to
an inviting rocking chair, a perfect place to see Cape
buffalo dining on lodge landscaping. Watch the sunset
from the pool or the bar, and enjoy the large central
fireplace in the restaurant. Overnight Ngorongoro Sopa
Lodge. [BLD]
Day 04 + 05: Ngorongoro Crater
Every day, we get up early to be one of the first vehicles
in the Ngorongoro National Park. Ngorongoro is one of
the most spectacular game parks in Africa and has been
designated a World Heritage site. Here animals are found
throughout the year due to the permanent availability
of grass and water. Nearly 100 square miles, it contains
an impressive variety of wildlife including black-maned
lions, the highly endangered black rhino, herds of gnu,
zebra, elephants, hippo and hyena, the most important
predator within the crater. Bird life is also prolific,
with flocks of flamingos on the soda lake, plus other
species of water and plains birds. We are allowed a maximum
of 6 hours game driving in the crater. We may take short
walks and hikes in this area during free time. Overnights

Day 06: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you depart for the Serengeti. Along the
way you will pass picturesque Maasai bomas and see the
local Maasai in their bright red robes walking or tending
their flocks as they do every day. En route, you will
stop at Olduvai Gorge, where several generations of the
Leakey family have toiled for decades, making important
archeological discoveries in relation to the origins of
man. The museum may be small, but the collection
is a fascinating mix of fossils, bones and historical
information. From there, the sprawling landscape of the
Serengeti begins to unfurl before you. It is impressive
in its size, but also in the variety and number of species
it protects. Dinner and Overnight at Serena Lodge or Similar,
Serengeti (BLD)
Day 07 + 08 + 09 + 10: Serengeti
National Park
You have 4 full days to journey far and wide in this immense
park, allowing your guides unerring instincts to
lead the way. You may choose to view these vast plains
from above by taking an optional balloon safari early
this morning (advance reservations required). You have
more time to explore the Serengeti, watching closely for
the elusive cheetah, the graceful Thomsons gazelle
or the tiny dik-dik, an antelope barely two feet tall.
There are countless other unique and fascinating sights
for you to see. An infinite number of dramas play themselves
out on these endless plains: predators stalk prey, animals
eat, scavenge and graze, mothers nurture their young,
birds hover and soar overhead, young animals frolic as
older animals keep a watchful eye on these vulnerable
little one. In short, it is a story of survival of the
fittest and the Serengeti is one of the few places where
you can still see the world as it was in the beginning.
With your skilled guides at the helm, the game viewing
promises to be interesting on this last day of your adventure.
Spanning nearly 6,000 square miles, the Serengeti has
even more to offer you today. Dinner and Overnight at
Serena Lodge or Similar, Serengeti (BLD)
Day 11 : Back To Arusha + Depart
After a final morning of game viewing in the Serengeti,
you will be transferred to the Airstrip back to Arusha
for a farewell lunch. Youll have a chance to pick
up a few last minute souvenirs if youd like. Youll
head off to your day rooms, which are provided so you
can prepare for the final journey home. Take a shower,
rest, share photo experiences with the other travellers
or take a swim before you are transferred to Kilimanjaro
International Airport for your departing flight this evening.

Zanzibar Islands are available on request.(Breakfast,
