Day 1
- Nairobi City - The Fairmont Norfolk Hotel
Land-only tour starts in Nairobi this morning. Upon arrival
in Nairobi you will be met and greeted with our "traditional
welcome" and escorted to The Fairmont Norfolk Hotel
in the heart of the city by AfriChoice! Tours & Travel
representatives. You will be assisted with check-in procedures.
Rest of the afternoon is spent on a Nairobi orientation
sightseeing featuring visits to Nairobi's principal land-marks
and places of interest. Situated in the Central Highlands
at an altitude of 6,130 feet (1,870 metres), Nairobi enjoys
a mild climate. On our driving tour of the city and its
surroundings we will see Uhuru Park, Kenya's Parliament
House, the Kenyatta Conference Centre, City Square and
some of Nairobi's popular suburbs. We also visit the Kenya
National Museum with our guide to learn about Kenya's
wildlife, geology and human history. This evening after
dinner, we assemble for a safari briefing by your local
tour leader. Retire at the hotel for overnight. Buffet
dinner is included. The

Days 2 & 3 - Amboseli National
Park [Mount Kilimanjaro]
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Wilson
Airport for a short flight to Amboseli National Park.
Begin your exciting journey with an aerial view of the
legendary "snows of Kilimanjaro." At 19,340
feet, the snow-capped peak of Africa's highest mountain,
Mt. Kilimanjaro, will welcome you as you fly to Amboseli
National Park located at its foot. Home to over 1,000
elephants, herds of wildebeest, lion and over 300 species
of birds, it is here that Ernest Hemingway spun his stories
of big-game hunting in the wilds of Africa. Part of Maasailand,
it's not unusual to see the proud Maasai warrior or small
children tending their cattle. This is also the park where
Cynthia Moss, the noted American naturalist and author,
has conducted the longest-running study on elephants.
Visit the Amboseli Elephant Research Project where Cynthia,
or a member of her professional staff, will discuss their
work. Your lodge has unbeatable views of the Amboseli
plains across to Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru in Tanzania.

Days 4 & 5 - Samburu Game
Reserve
After breakfast, depart on the scheduled flight from Amboseli
airstrip to Nairobi Wilson Airport to connect on a scheduled
flight to Samburu Game Reserve. Wing your way past the
equator and onto Samburu Game Reserve in the ruggedly
beautiful, semi-arid desert of northern Kenya. Met on
arrival and continue on morning game viewing in the game
reserve. Nestled amidst the acacia groves that border
the crocodile-filled reaches of the Uaso Nyiro River,
the lodge stands centre-stage to miles of lion-stalked
grasslands, elephant-studded plains and wildlife-teeming
bush. It is also ideally placed for visits to the neighbouring
parks of Buffalo Springs and Shaba National Reserve. The
Reserve is within the lands of the colorful Samburu people,
close relatives of the Maasai, and home to a number of
wildlife species rarely found elsewhere in Kenya: Grevy's
zebra, reticulated giraffe, and Beisa oryx. Experience

Days 6, 7 & 8 - Maasai Mara
Game Reserve
Feel like Karen Blixen as you wing your way to the Maasai
Mara, Kenya's most famous game reserve. Breakfast at the
Samburu Serena Safari Lodge. 09h15 depart from the Samburu
Airstrip on the scheduled flight for Mara Serena to arrive
at 10h45. Met on arrival and continue on morning game
viewing drives in the Masai Mara game reserve. Lunch at
the Mara Serena Safari Lodge. After lunch, afternoon game
viewing drives in the Masai Mara game reserve. Much the
setting for the film Out of Africa, its seemingly endless
savannah inhabited by exotic animals including lion, cheetah,
elephant, leopard, rhino and hippo. There are also over
500 resident species of birds in the park. The reserve
covers an area of 700 square miles and hosts the annual
migration of up to two million wildebeest, thousands of
zebra and an escort of carnivores from the Serengeti plains,
following the rains and succulent new grass. Exciting
optional activities (at additional cost) are available
such as witnessing dawn over the Serengeti from a hot
air balloon or visiting a Maasai Village to experience
this nomadic tribes way of life. All meals overnights

Day 9 & 10 - Kisumu and Nyangoma
Kogelo, Nyanza Province, Kenya
After a final game drive in Masai Mara and a hearty breakfast,
we leave by road to Kisumu City to prepare for the much-awaited
visit to Kogelo Village. This vibrant city is situated
in Western Kenya on the shores of Lake Victoria, Africa's
largest inland sea. Among the attractions include the
nearby Impala Park, fishing trips in the lake and visiting
the Museum with its wealth in archeological findings.
The Lake side city of Kisumu is home to a number of tourist
attractions. These include interesting cultural centers
such as the Museum and the Kit Mikaye, The popular Boat
trips from the local yacht club to Ndere Island or just
around the Gulf. Other areas of interest include the Kisumu
Municipal Market, the Bus Park, Bicycle, Scooter and Motorcycle
rides around Kisumu city, not to mention the day Visits
to Impala Park and the Hippo point. Dinner

10 - The Trip's Main Highlight Day - Visit To Kogelo Village,
Nyang'oma
NB: During
our second day in Kisumu, we visit the now-famed village
of Kogelo located about 30 miles from Kisumu City where
the family of Barack Obama originates. Lately, Kogelo
Village received international attention, since it is
the hometown of Barack Obama, Sr., the father of current
United States President-elect Barack Obama. Barack Obama,
Sr. is buried in the village. Some of their family members,
including his paternal grandmother Sarah Obama, still
live in the village and we have good chances of meeting
and talking to her. On the trip, we visit a primary school,
a high school (Senator Obama Secondary School), and a
health centre as well as donate gift items to the community's
children and enjoy a photo session with the Kogelo People.
This afternoon we return to Kisumu City for dinner and
overnight at Imperail

Day
11 - Back to Nairobi + Departure
After breakfast fly back to Nairobi, Kenya's colourful
capital city. Lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant.
Carnivore Barbecue Experience is also described as 'Meat
Eaters Paradise' and is the Africa's Greatest Eating Experence!
If your flight departs this evening, you may opt to take
a day room to rest at The Norfolk Hotel. Optionally, the
afternoon can be spent doing last-minute shopping at Nairobi's
popular souvenirs and artifact shops located in or outside
the city centre. Your tour leader will advise you on the
many options available. Later, we transfer you to the
Airport for your onward arrangements. AfriChoice! airport
representative will re-confirm your onward flight, and
assist you at check-in.
