heart of a coffee estate at the foothills of Mount Meru,
with great views of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. Just 10
minutes from Arusha and 20 minutes from Kilimanjaro International
Airport, the lodge is the perfect basis for a Safari to
the National Park and to Kilimanjaro. The Lodge has 38

Day 2:
Lake Manyara National Park
Your Safari starts with the drive to Lake Manyara. Nestling
at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park
is recognized for its incredible beauty. In Lake Manyara
National Park, the hauntingly beautiful soda lake sprawls
on the Rift Valley floor, below the sheer red cliffs of
the escarpment. Sometimes pink-tinged with the wings of
migratory flamingos, Lake Manyara is home to pelicans
and many other bird species. Elephant, hippo, monkey,
leopard and bushbuck are found in the unique groundwater
forest. Closer to the vast lake, flat-topped acacia trees
and open grassland are host to plains species and the
famous tree-climbing Manyara lions. You can see many game
animals such as Buffalo, Elephant, Giraffe, Impala, hippo
and others. Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena.
It is difficult to imagine a more spectacular setting
for this lodge - on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment,
overlooking the Great Rift Valley and the stunning Manyara
soda lake. The extraordinary birdlife has made this place
world-renowned among ornithologists, who come to observe
the masses of pink flamingos and great birds of prey.
The abundant birdlife inspired the design of the Lodge
- swooping curves are complemented by soft, geometric
patterns; striking murals depict bird migration patterns. The
circular shape of the buildings is a tribute to indigenous
architectural traditions in Tanzania. Beyond the superb
standards of hospitality offered, there is a spirit of
tranquility that prevails. The lodge is comprised of 67
luxury rooms. Lake Manyara Serena (Full Board)
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater &

the short distance to the "eighth wonder of the world",
the Ngorongoro Crater. Driving up the slopes of the lush
green mountain and arriving at the rim of the crater ,

this collapsed volcano spreads for 102 sq. miles and the
walls are 2000 feet high, a truly awesome sight. The crater
floor is a virtual "Noah's Ark", inhabited by
almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa.
It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake - complete
with flamingoes, a forest and open plains. After checking
in to your lodge, perched high on the crater rim, and
enjoying lunch at the lodge, youll depart with your

mud-and-stick manyatta (homestead), three intimate camps

Crater Lodge is one of Africa's architecturally most spectacular
